Global Health Security
Containing and mitigating the spread of infectious pathogens and mitigating the impact of AMR is very essential by strengthening the capacity of health systems to prevent, detect and respond swiftly and effectively.
TASO recognises how vulnerabilities in the health system to the COVID-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases like Ebola have profound implications on health, economic progress, and social cohesion.

Response to Climate Change
Climate change affects the social and environmental determinants of health, safe drinking water, food security, clean air, and secure shelter. Uganda has experienced increased adverse weather patterns such as prolonged drought in the north, landslides in the east, and devasting floods. TASO aligned to the global and national goals supports efforts of the Uganda national climate change policy through adopting progressive environmental-friendly policies, and innovations including climate risk screening and budget tagging.
In the next five years, TASO seeks to actively contribute to the gains made to mitigate the effects of climate change, especially through capacity building and awareness-raising on climate change mitigation, adaptation, and impact reduction. TASO has made commitment to integrate climate change messages in health talks, reduce the amount of paper and fossil fuel in its programming
