Dr. Etukoit Bernard Michael, TASO's dedicated Executive Director, is a distinguished Public Health Specialist with a remarkable 17-year journey in comprehensive HIV/AIDS programming. His illustrious career at TASO began in 2001 as a Medical Coordinator, progressing through various roles, including ART Coordinator, Deputy Director Programs, and Director Programs. His dynamic leadership saw him serve as the Activity Deputy Executive Director and Grants and Program Design Advisor. In October 2014, he took on the pivotal role of Acting Executive Director, later assuming the position permanently. Dr. Etukoit's expertise lies in strategic planning, program design, and direction in HIV/AIDS programming, with a focus on evidence-based combination HIV prevention. He has successfully managed multi-donor funded projects, overseeing annual budgets of up to US$ 25 Million, impacting over 100,000 primary beneficiaries. A stalwart in monitoring and evaluating grant projects, Dr. Etukoit possesses exceptional strategic and operational planning skills. His leadership extends to the WHO Tuberculosis roster, and he has played a key role in the development of numerous projects at TASO, collaborating with major donors such as USAID, CDC, CSF, Irish Aid, Global Fund, and Apac District HCT project. Dr. Etukoit is an invaluable resource and contributes significantly to public health programming. His ongoing interest in developing efficient and sustainable health financing models underscores his commitment to advancing solutions in public health.

Edgar Natulinda, the Honorary Treasurer on the TASO Board of Trustees, is a seasoned professional contributing strategic financial oversight. Since 2019, he has been a valuable member of the Board, serving as Chairman of the Board Audit Committee and currently heading the Finance Committee. A distinguished member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, Edgar is also a certified Internal Auditor and a pension trustee. With a career spanning thirteen years, Edgar excels as the Manager of Risk & Compliance at the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). His wealth of experience extends to roles at the Uganda Revenue Authority, where he served as an Internal Auditor. Edgar's academic prowess includes a Bachelor of Commerce, a Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management, and an MBA. He holds several certifications, including CPA (U), Chartered Risk Analyst (CRA), Certified ISO 31000 Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Pension Trustee. His extensive expertise in accounting, financial management, corporate governance, internal controls, and risk management positions Edgar as an invaluable asset to TASO's financial governance and strategic decision-making.

Mr. Wandera Emmanuel, TASO Uganda's accomplished Chief Internal Auditor, brings a rich tapestry of expertise in finance and internal audit spanning over 22 years. Emmanuel is a distinguished Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). He has seamlessly navigated finance and accounts departments, honing skills in donor compliance, internal controls, risk management, and procurement. His proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and procurement management is augmented by extensive experience in both profit-motivated and not-for-profit entities. As Chief Internal Auditor, Emmanuel has significantly enhanced TASO's compliance to donor requirements. His leadership in conducting risk assessments has provided the foundation for effective organizational monitoring and risk mitigation. Emmanuel's role extends to overseeing internal audit reviews, policy and procedure reviews, and facilitating timely and consistent reporting to the Board Audit Committee. His transformative impact is evident in leading restructuring efforts, and reviewing Audit and Internal Audit Charters. Beyond TASO, he served as the lead auditor for the statutory audit of Makerere University Academic Staff Association and the Audit for Public Relations Association of Uganda, demonstrating the breadth of his auditing prowess.

Prior to her pivotal role, she held the position of Finance Manager within the Grants Management Unit, showcasing her commitment to the organization's financial success. Katesi's professional journey also includes a managerial role at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Uganda, where she contributed to the Local Fund Agenda for the Global Fund in Uganda. Her extensive experience spans both private and public sectors, where she has provided invaluable financial, audit, and advisory services. Notably, her focus has been in the health sector, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of the complexities within this critical domain. Jacqueline's multifaceted skill set and managerial acumen make her an indispensable asset to TASO's Grants Management Unit.

Lydia Cathy Tamale, a seasoned Human Resource Management professional, brings over nineteen years of experience to her role as the Chief of Human Resources and Administration at TASO. With fifteen years at the senior management level, Lydia has cultivated her expertise in collaboration with prominent donors such as UK-AID, DANIDA, PEPFAR (USAID and CDC), Global Fund, SIDA, and Irish Aid. A dynamic, self-driven leader, Lydia is adept at navigating diverse cultures and backgrounds. She is a member of HRMAU, served on the Council for Federation of Uganda Employers Association, and contributed to the National Council for Disability. As TASO's Chief of Human Resources and Administration, Lydia spearheads policy formulation, employee satisfaction initiatives, and cost containment drives. Her strategic guidance on human resource planning and management, coupled with her multifaceted skills, positions Lydia as an integral member of TASO's Management Team, contributing significantly to the organization's success.

Dr. Kazibwe Andrew, a trailblazing specialist in internal medicine and healthcare management. Armed with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine (MMED) from Makerere University, and a Master of Management Studies in Hospital and Healthcare Management from the Uganda Management Institute, he boasts over a decade of impactful experience. As an institutional co-investigator for the USAID-funded FHI360-led CATALYST study, Dr. Kazibwe spearheads PrEP choice initiatives in Uganda. Overseeing care for nearly 80,000 people living with HIV at TASO centers. He also provides crucial technical input to CDC and USAID-funded HIV health systems strengthening projects. Dr. Kazibwe's extensive contributions also include coordinating community TB interventions, leading health systems strengthening in Soroti and Bunyoro, and heading clinical research teams. A prolific author with over 15 publications, Dr. Kazibwe is a respected member of the Uganda Medical Association, Association of Physicians of Uganda (APU), and the Uganda Society for Health Scientists (USHS). His involvement in the Uganda National HIV Care and Treatment Technical Working Group further underscores his commitment to advancing healthcare in Uganda.

Dr. John Michael Irige is a dynamic leader with a profound impact in public health. Equipped with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB), a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Makerere University Kampala, and an MBA from Heriot Watt University in the United Kingdom, he brings a wealth of expertise. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Irige has served in various leadership roles, including as a Medical Officer, Medical Coordinator at TASO Mbarara, and leading the URC/TASO SUSTAIN Project. His international experience spans various roles such as Research Manager for Canada Africa Prevention Trials Network (CAPTN) and Technical Director/Chief of Party for FHI 360 in Botswana. Dr. Irige is a visionary in HIV/TB program management, health system strengthening, and strategic leadership. A member of the Uganda Medical Association and the American Public Health Association, he is deeply committed to transformative leadership, community and health system strengthening, and innovative programming. Driven by his passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, he continues to inspire and develop highly motivated teams, delivering transformational outcomes in healthcare.
