Grants for the Response

The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) in partnership with its Development Partners has provided grants to many Community Based Organisation (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to implement specific activities to scale up the HIV and AIDS response in their communities and catchment areas. Availability of grants is usually advertised in local and national media including the website.  Communities are encouraged to look out for such opportunities when available.

TASO Soroti Region Project

The TASO Soroti Region project is a five (5) year (2017-2021) district-led partnership mechanism for accelerating HIV epidemic control through attainment of 90-90-90 UNAIDS targets by 2020 and strengthening health systems in Soroti Region. It is implemented by TASO, an implementing partner, Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) together with the 10 districts in the region; Amuria, Bukedea, Kaberamaido, Kalaki (new district), Kapelebyong, Katakwi, Kumi, Ngora, Serere and Soroti, 2 Municipalities of Kumi and Soroti and 12 Civil Society Organisations. It is funded by the Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Project has received Key Population Investment Fund (KPIF) grant from Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) to implement evidence-based high-quality, high impact health interventions for improving Key Populations (KP) targeted HIV prevention, care and treatment services. These interventions will be implemented through partnership with indigenous KP led Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) or Community Based Organizations (CBOs) operating in the region.

TASO Soroti Region Project is therefore seeking for applications  from eligible indigenous KP led Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) or Community Based Organizations (CBOs) operating within Soroti Region to implement activities/interventions that will contribute to increased demand, access to and continuous utilization of high-quality, high impact health interventions with the purpose of improving Key Populations (KP) targeted HIV testing, strengthening data capture and enhancing prevention and clinical cascades to achieve 80% coverage  in Soroti Region, under theKey Population Investment Fund (KPIF) from Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC).
