One of the unique attributes of TASO is its membership philosophy. This is a drive that mobilizes individuals, families, communities and institutions to contribute to the HIV and AIDS response, through payment of subscription fees on a yearly basis, and constituting the General Assembly. Grants for the Response
The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) in partnership with its Development Partners provides grants to Community Based Organisation (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to implement specific activities to scale up the HIV and AIDS response in their communities and catchment areas. Availability of grants is usually advertised in local and national media including the website. TASO currently has a running offer for grants to accelerate HIV and AIDS epidemic Control through Health systems strengthening approach in Soroti region covering the 08 Districts of Amuria, Bukedea, Kaberamaido, Katakwi, Kumi, Ngora, Serere and Soroti and in the district of Masaka and Kalungu as a sub recipient under the Masaka – Region Rakai Health Science Program. TASO in consortium with Catholic Relief Services contracted by the U.S Department of State, through PEPFAR is implementing a Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY) project/ Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) targeting Orphans and Vulnerable Children in 4 districts of Wakiso, Mityana, Gomba and Rakai, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The SOCY/DREAMS project focuses primarily on OVC Case Maangement and household economic strengthening through savings groups, associated interventions and parenting/caregiver programs and helping girls develop into determined women. In order to achieve these, TASO is looking to recruit 23 Social Workers.
